The best office Onam celebrations mix tradition with something new: keep the pookalam, sadya and tug of war, then add a digital Vallam Kali boat race as the team contest, a festive AI photo booth for keepsakes, and quick games such as Scream Xtreme so nobody stands around between events.
We run Onam celebrations for offices and colleges every year from our studio in Kochi. These are the ideas that work best, starting with the traditions and adding the interactive pieces that get every department involved.
The Digital Vallam Kali boat race. It brings Kerala's snake boat race indoors: two players row real paddles side by side, and every stroke and how hard they pull moves their boat on the big screen. Partners must row in sync to win, so it is a team building game as much as a race, and every 3-minute race draws a cheering crowd. It needs a 10 × 10 ft space, one 5A socket and no internet.
Pair up colleagues within each department and race them on Vallam Kali, with a live leaderboard on screen. Department winners race in a final before the sadya or just after it. Add the pookalam score and the tug of war result for an overall "Onam champions" team. Our technician runs the races and keeps the leaderboard, so your HR team can enjoy the day too.
Yes. The DSLR & AI photo booth takes a studio-lit photo of each group in their Onam best, then AI restyles it into a festive look, with your company logo in the frame. The photo goes to their phone in seconds. For video, the 360 video booth turns kasavu sarees and mundus into slow-motion clips made for reels. Not sure which? Read AI photo booth vs 360 video booth.
Quick games with short rounds, placed near the dining area:
Pookalam and sadya, plus Buzz Wire or the Reaction Game, and the AI photo booth.
A Vallam Kali tournament as the main event, the AI photo booth, and Scream Xtreme near the dining area.
Vallam Kali, the 360 video booth and two quick-round games, so queues stay short all day.
Onam week is our busiest time of year, so book as early as you can. How much notice we need depends on the products and the branding you want. Message us your date and we will confirm availability.

Mix traditional games such as tug of war (vadamvali) and uriyadi with interactive ones. A digital Vallam Kali boat race is the highlight: two colleagues row real paddles in sync to win. Quick games like Scream Xtreme and the Reaction Game keep everyone else busy between events.
A two-player version of Kerala's snake boat race. Players row real paddles side by side, and every stroke and how hard they pull moves their boat on a big screen. It needs a 10 × 10 ft space, one 5A socket and no internet.
Run a department-versus-department Vallam Kali tournament with a live leaderboard, alongside the pookalam competition. Teams race in pairs, so everyone gets a turn and the whole office has a reason to cheer.
